The founder of Sakharov and Partners Law Firm with more than eighteen years of practice. Nikolay focuses on corporate, investment and commercial law. Nikolay has an extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions in IT, real estate, pharmacy, metals and mining. He was involved into a large number of international transactions governed under English law, such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures in greenfield and brownfield projects.

During last eight years Nikolay’s primary focus of interest included investment into tech companies and supporting venture projects. He also assisted in organizing legal departments for several Russian venture funds.

Prior to starting his Firm Nikolay worked for Russian and American law firms and took senior position at of one Russian Steel giants, where he was mainly responsible for launching Eurobond and Convertible Bond programmes.

He graduated from the O.E. Kutafin Moscow State Academy of Law and Moscow State University, Faculty of Sociology.

Vladimir specialises in intellectual property and telecommunications law, foreign economic activity, transportation and insurance, corporate and contract law.

Vladimir advises clients on export and import transactions, debt collection and restructuring, foreign investment and business development. He also has significant experience in dispute resolution, including dispute resolution in international commercial arbitration. Among other things, Vladimir has significant experience in advising on the activities of trusts and offshore companies, information security, personal data processing and issues related to cloud technologies.


Vladimir graduated from the Ural State Law Academy (with honors). He has twenty three years of practical experience. Doctor of Law (2010), Professor of the Department of Private International Law of the Moscow State Law University named after O.E. Kutafin (MSUA).

He has more than 90 publications on civil and private international law.
